General Project Goals

In 2024, Iowa State University was awarded funding by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to improve the sustainability of dairy goat production in the US. Reaching this goal would allow for both environmental and economic intensification of dairy goat sustainability within production while assuring continued access to value-added markets that support farmers and small rural farming communities.

The project is based at Iowa State University and the work is supported by the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative's Sustainable Agricultural Systems (SAS) program grant no. 2024-68012-41749 from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
